When you awake in the morning what is your routine, do you simply throw yourself out of bed from 0 to 90 miles per hour? Do you listen to the room before you open your eyes? Do you take the time to instinctively stretch your hands your neck your feet?
Tomorrow try this:
Before you even open your eyes, roll to your back, take the time to reach your toes to the end of the bed spreading them one by one feeling the blood flow to your feet as you start taking deep breath. Notice your ankles, sweep them back and forth like windshield wipers.
Next, move your wrist and hands, down by your sides widely opening the fingers moving them, rolling them one to the next in a wavelike motion. Roll your wrists, first clockwise and then counterclockwise. Now you can open your eyes. You might notice at this point a very faint smile on your face as you enjoy the awakening of your body.
This morning before you throw yourself out of bed, take time to focus, stretch, and move your area of concern. Whether a low back soreness or a shoulder and neck that won’t move correctly, take time to slowly move and wake up the ‘grump’. Spending a couple minutes to stretch, you are now ready to get up and start the day, You are well on your way to being your BEST!
